An 83-year-old woman was rescued from a ravine by emergency workers after a passerby heard a cat meowing continuously for several minutes.

From there, the rescue team was able to track down the trapped unnamed woman’s location with the help of a cat named Piran.

The cat refused to give up its owner and continued to meow near the corner of a large cornfield near the woman’s house. The consistent meowing acted as a distress signal helping emergency teams locate the woman.

When rescuers arrived at the scene, they saw an old woman who had fallen into a deep ravine with extremely difficult paths and uneven terrain.

Fortunately, the old lady was treated quickly and transferred to the hospital the same day. According to Bodmin police, the woman is now in stable condition.

Police shared pictures of the rescue on their Twitter account and added: “The elderly woman fell approximately 20m down a very steep embankment, with extremely difficult access and terrain. “The terrain is uneven. Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service attended with their dedicated rescue team.”

The old lady was taken back to the yard on a stretcher via the rescue line. She was then taken to the hospital via Air Ambulance in stable condition. Piran the cat saved this woman.”

Previously, a young British couple was also trapped on a 100-foot-tall mountain cliff in Snowdonia, having been mistaken for mountain goats by locals before a hiker recognize their call for help.

The couple trapped on a cliff edge tried everything to find help. But when a nearby hiker heard the pair, he initially thought the sound was made by injured mountain goats.

After shouting back, he realized that it was a couple in dire need of help and rescue.

A comprehensive rescue operation was launched immediately after the hiker realized the couple was stuck in the mountain. According to reports, the 18-member rescue team was able to reach the cliff after the police helicopter was unable to provide any help.
