The fact that a cat in Thailand miraculously survived, almost uninjured, after falling from the 6th floor, punctured the car windshield, is causing a stir.
The owner of the “unlucky” car Apiwat Toyothaka shared on Facebook a horrifying story about a cat falling from a high place .
He was surprised to see a cat fall onto his car’s windshield with almost no damage, except for losing two claws. But the glass door had a big hole and many pieces of debris were scattered around.
Although he was the “victim”, he couldn’t get angry at the “perpetrator” when he saw how scared the cat was. Even though he was not injured, it seems that the fall still made the cat “quite sneaky” so he hid under Apiwat Toyothaka’s car. The cat hit the third-floor balcony before crashing into the car.
The cat in this story is not the only character who miraculously survived after falling from a high place. Previously, another viral video captured the extremely strange moment when a cat fell from the sky onto the head of an elderly man while walking his dog in Heilongjiang, China. The cat was okay but the person passed out (then regained consciousness).
Not only surprised, the online community also asked why cats can do that?
At the bottom of a cat’s paw there is a very well-developed flesh pad that is both soft and elastic. When the cat walks, the claws are tucked into the meat cushions so they don’t make a sound. When jumping from a high place, the soft muscle cushion helps the cat stay safe and sound.
But the foot padding is not always what helps cats survive. A reporter from Insider once learned about this issue and gave an explanation in the video “How can a cat live after falling from the 32nd floor?”.
